Itanagar, Jun 12 : Local rock group ‘Alien Gods’ is poised to go places with their debut album ‘Lunar Blackened Death’ set for a worldwide release soon.
The three-member band is very upbeat about their kind of music, though they regret that locally there are not many takers. “We are yet to find sponsors here even nearly two months after the album was released in the State, perhaps unable to sync with our brand of music,” said vocalist Olik Boko.
The other members of the group are Ravi Prasad on drums and Raju Thapa on bass guitar. “It would be a lot better if we can go out and promote our music,” says Olik, the frontman.
Started in the year 2002 while still in school with the name ‘Holo Band’, the three of them had formed the band to pursue their passion for music.
Olik says initially they used to play songs from all genres and after performing only two shows they shut shop in order to pursue higher studies.
“Then in 2004 when we performed in a musical soiree called Megatone at Ziro in Lower Subansiri district, I saw that we had improved a lot and then by the end of that year Alien Gods was formed,” said Olik.
Talking about their music, Olik said, “Our music is very tough and it needs years of practice and stamina.”
Ravi said, “The tempo goes from 140 BPM to 300 BPM. So our music has to be perfect, a note goes in there and the shows is all gone.”
Many of the companies, national and from outside, are showing interest in their music, said the band.

A MELBOURNE-based company is selling baby and children's clothes featuring pictures of evil monsters such as Hitler, Osama bin Laden, Ivan Milat, Ted Bundy and Charles Manson.
The range of garments, in sizes from 000 rompers for three-month-old babies, to T-shirts for children up to 12, has sparked outrage.
The Ivan Milat baby romper also has the slogan "Australians Just Love Backpackers". Other T-shirts include the words "Free Ted Bundy" and "Ted Bundy is Innocent", and "Serial Killer in Training" alongside graphic images.
The Charles Manson T-shirt and romper has a picture of the serial killer with a swastika on his forehead.
Other shocking T-shirts feature:
DRUG images including a syringe and a spoon high-fiving each other with the slogan, "team work".
JULIA Gillard wearing a crown with the slogan "deliberately baron".
There is also an entire Nazi-inspired theme of garments with pictures of Adolf Hitler and pro-Nazi slogans and insignia including a child-like Hitler android.
Child Safety Commissioner Bernie Geary said he would be leading the charge to ensure the garments were not sold for children.
The founder and CEO of international artists' website redbubble.com said offending garments were removed once complaints had been received.
But last night there were still dozens of controversial garments for sale on the website, internationally recognised as a forum for aspiring artists.
The site, which has 3.5 million hits a month, has 150,000 contributing artists and is run from Flinders St, in Melbourne, and San Francisco.
The artists post their work on the site, which is not moderated. It offers automatic formats, including kids' and baby clothes.
The founder said his staff had removed many images in the past few weeks.
"It is par for the course that some offensive material may be put up, but it is removed immediately when drawn to our attention," he said.
Mr Geary said he was disgusted by the clothing.
"I think it's just pretty sad that people will stoop so low to try to make a quid."
He would look into what could be done to impose some sort of control over "retailing at this disgraceful level".
Julie Gale, founder of Kids Free 2B Kids, said the clothes were walking billboards for sick adult humour.
"These images do not belong on children," she said.
Two dead bodies discovered in Delhi, One N-E man missing

New Delhi, Jun 12 : The discovered of two decomposed bodies which resembles like a Northeasterner have sent shock waves across the capital.
Dead bodies of a woman and a man have been discovered here in the dubious murderous capital in a separate location on June 8 and June 9 respectively.
This is the sixth incident in the city this year where a woman’s body has been found in a sack.
The unwanted news alarms the North East communities in Delhi.
The body of an unidentified woman was found stuffed in a gunny bag near a canal in the Yamuna Khadar region at Old Usmanpur on June 8 .
It is clear that the victim was murdered elsewhere and her body was dumped here in an isolated canal in Yamuna River.
The incident came into light when some passers-by saw the decomposed body and informed the police.
The body was wrapped in a bed-sheet and tied with ropes.
The dead body bore several injury marks.
“It appears the murder took place at least 18 to 72 hours ago.
The victim is around 20 years old with light weight having fair complexion, round face, 4 feet 10 inches height, and having long and black hair.
The body has been kept at GTB Hospital for the next 72 hours for identification.
A case of murder has been registered in Ushmanpur police station.
The police are investigating the case,” a senior police officer said.
Three similar murders which shocked the capital were unsolved still, which includes a body of a woman was sent to Ajmer in parcel, another body was sent by train to Etawah and the woman whose body was recovered from east Delhi in the beginning of this year.
Last month, a 22-year-old woman, Cecilia Chong, belonging to the Kuki-Chin community was murdered by her live-in partner, Innocent Nwayo (31) in the same manner in Uttar Nagar.
Nwayo was arrested by the police recently.
Another unidentified male body which looks like a North East was also found near India Gate on June 9 morning.
The victim has a wheatish complexion with thick bulky hair, around 5 feet 2 inches height and wore white T-shirt.
His body is found laying in the pool of his blood.
There was a tattoo of ‘OM’ on the left arm.
The dead body has been kept in Ram Lohia Manohar Hospital Mortuary.
“A case has been registered and we are investigating the case,” police officials said.
Various leaders from the North East organisations had visited the Ram Lohia Manohar and Guru Teg Bahadur hospitals to identify the dead bodies.
The dead bodies have not been claim by any one else till today.
Dr.Thokchom Meinya, MP (Lok Sabha), Manipur has also visited RLM hospital today and expressed his deep concern for the safety of North East peoples living in the national capital.
In yet another incident, a young man belonging to Vaiphei community from Manipur also been reported missing from Delhi since May 21.On this day, he went to Inter State Bus Terminal (ISBT) to catch a bus for Gourakhpur, Uttar Pradesh to visit his cousins.
He left his luggage in the travel agency where he booked his ticket.
But he did not return back.
On suspicious, the travel agents informed the Delhi Police.
The police found a telephone number from a diary inside the luggage, and the matter was immediately informed to his relative in Delhi.
However, his whereabouts is not yet known.
Zillai (Vaiphei Students) Delhi and Young Vaiphei Association, Delhi is looking forward for the missing person.
