High School Musical's Ashley Tisdale Reveals Naked Ambition

(after getting her mother's approval first, of course)

Ashley Tisdale is shedding her squeaky clean Disney image with a tried and tested method - a naked photo shoot.

The High School Musical star, 25, appears in Allure magazine's May issue as part of its new nudes shoot, which also features Kaley Cuoco, Keri Hilson and Bridget Moynahan.

'I'm 25, almost 26, but people think of me as much younger because I look young,' she told the publication.

'Being in this shoot was me saying, "I'm not just the young girl everybody thinks I am. I'm actually a woman".'

While she may be all grown up, the star was sure to get her mother's approval before stripping off.

And in fact Lisa, 54, even joined her on the set of the shoot.

'I've always wanted to be sure my parents approve of what I do,' Tisdale told the magazine.

'Even with my tattoos, my mom went with me. The 'believe' tattoo is because my mom always told me to believe.'

The ink, which runs down her back, is on show in the seductive black and white photograph. She has had the tattoo for several yeears.

The actress, who also appears in the cheer leading TV show Hellcats, also revealed she works hard to stay in shape.

She is at the gym six days a week, alternating between a boot-camp class, cardio, strength training, and spinning.

Moynahan, 40, who has a child with her ex Tom Brady, also peeled down for the magazine's annual special.

The Blue Bloods star says she is rarely so eager to reveal her body.

'I never roam around in bikinis, and I am only naked in the privacy of my own home. In this electronic age, it's not safe to be naked anywhere else, even in locker rooms.'

She relied on the shoot's 'good lighting' and the right 'positioning' to make her feel confident.

The Big Bang Theory's Cuoco, 25, on the other hand, couldn't wait to get her clothes off.

'I was way more excited than I ever thought I would be,' she says. 'Which made me realize, I'm more comfortable in my own skin than I thought.'

Hilson, 28, who wrote Britney Spears' hit Gimme More, was also eager to be laid bare.

'We do a lot of things to seek validation: I have to get more expensive handbags or fake lashes or fake boobs. This shoot was about dropping all that.'

Tisdale is busy promoting Disney's latest High School Musical movie - the straight-to-DVD Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure.

The movie is a High School Musical spin off that follows Tisdale’s character Sharpay Evans’ life after her graduation.
Sharpay travels to New York where she is pursuing a Broadway career, but instead it’s her dog who lands an acting gig first.

Militants Target Education Sector in Manipur

Manipur-MilitantImphal, Apr 13 : After targeting employees in the insurance, banking and hospitality sectors, militants in Manipur are now reportedly targeting students, teachers, principals and professors for extortion and ransom.

These attacks pose a threat to the education state's system and is being viewed with serious concern.

Oinam Imocha, a resident of Langthabal Kunja Awang Leikai in Imphal is scared after suspected cadres of Government of People's Republic of Nagalim left a hand grenade outside the veranda of his house on March 31.

Though the grenade was removed, the fear in the mind of the 30-year-old Computer professor remains.

"It is very painful to see all this. I have not done anything wrong so I wanted to discuss what did they want from me? But when I found the grenade, I was scared and decided to concern with people and local authorities," Oinam said.

"On March 12, one unidentified youth came to the house and handed over a demand note for Rs 3 lakh in the name of GPRN saying that it was an invitation card. Along with the demand note there was one bullet and a mobile phone number inside the envelope" said Indira Devi, Imocha's wife.

"We do not want this kind of thing to happen again. It can kill us. We have come out together to strongly protest against it," said Dashumati Devi, a protestor.

"If the authorities do not take the incident seriously then we will intensify our agitation. We will hunt them down and then take appropriate action against them," added Randhoni Devi another protestor.

Mizo Town Fights Canine Trouble With Law

By Rahul Karmakar

street-dogGuwahati, April 13
: The administration in Mizoram’s Lunglei town has invoked Section 144 of the criminal penal code, but against dogs.
The law is typically imposed to stop people from gathering in large numbers at public places as a means of maintaining law and order. But officials in Lunglei, 150 km south of state

capital Aizawl, clamped it this month after at least a  dozen people complained they had been bitten by stray canines.

“Dogs let loose on the streets have become a menace, forcing us to impose Section 144 for two months,” Lunglei deputy commissioner Margaret Zomingthangi told Hindustan Times.

The police have been asked to chase away or impound stray dogs. The administration has also cautioned people against letting their dogs out.

“Since the people took the order seriously, we haven’t had to go for sterner measures, such as imposing fines,” she added.

Mizos, like some Naga tribes, are known to rear dogs for meat. Lack of space in urban areas is often the reason why people let canines out on the streets. But dogs seldom attacked pedestrians here until a few weeks ago.

“Our officials took the initiative to admit the dog-bite victims to the Lunglei Civil Hospital,” said Zomingthangi, adding that she had requested the hospital to provide free treatment to four poor patients.

“This dog problem has made us mull a headcount of canines besides taking steps to register pets,”
said a Lunglei municipal officer.

This isn’t the first time that the law has been invoked against dogs in the Northeast. The administration in Arunachal Pradesh’s capital Itanagar had issued shoot-at-sight orders to check mongrel menace in 2001.

Around 5,000 dogs are estimated to be in the town and its outskirts, though no official count has been carried out.

Shocking Story Of The Noida Sisters

Depressed by death of loved ones, sisters shun food & the world; result of 'social apathy' say experts

Shocking story of the Noida sisters

Noida, Apr 13 : One of the two sisters, rescued from their Noida flat after they locked themselves in following severe depression over their father's death, died at Kailash Hospital here Wednesday.

"Anuradha, the elder sister, died at around 7.30 a.m. A lot of factors led to the death," Superintendent of Police Anant Dev told IANS in this suburban city adjoining the capital.

The two sisters were found in a state of acute starvation Tuesday and immediately hospitalised.

Both sisters locked themselves up in their home for seven months and were left to fend for themselves and in a state of utter loneliness.

According to a police officer, the sisters - Anuradha Behl, 41, and Sonali, 38 - had shut themselves up in their house No.326 in the posh Sector-29 of Noida for seven months after their father Colonel (retired) O.P. Behl died two years ago.

They had lost their mother earlier.

However, Superintendent of Police (City) Anant Dev said their father had died in an accident in 1992 and their mother shortly afterwards.

Anuradha suffered multiple organ weakness due to insufficient vitamin intake, said Sarika Chandra, the attending doctor at Kailash Hospital.

Sonali is also in a state of deep depression, she added.

Police, acting on information from neighbours, had to break open the door when the sisters -- both unmarried -- refused to open the door, Anant Dev told IANS.

Their younger brother Vipin Behl, who lives in Sector-50 of Noida with his wife and children, and a maternal uncle used to look after them. But after falling into depression, the two sisters were not cooperating with them, said inspector Vijay Prakash of Sector-20 police station.

Shocking story of the Noida sisters

"After the death of their parents, Vipin and a maternal uncle used to support them. When their savings exhausted and the sisters stopped cooperating with them, the brother and the uncle dragged their feet," the police officer said.

"That situation forced the sisters into isolation. Taking a note of severe isolation the Residents Welfare Association officials contacted social activist Usha Thakur after they failed to persuade the sisters to open the door," the officer added.

The two women had a dog, which died about two and half months ago.

Anuradha has done her Ph.D after completing her course in chartered accountancy. She had left her accountancy practice after her parents' death.

Sonali also has doctorate in history.

"When we opened the door, everyone started vomiting because of the foul smell. The elder woman was half naked on her bed. She could not speak and did not know what was going on. So I called Kailash Hospital," Usha Thakur, who accompanied police, told reporters.

According to Vijay Prakash, Anuradha was still unconscious while being brought out of the house, but Sonali was stable and could manage to speak.

When the door was opened, the women asked for water.

Thakur said: "I think they are mentally disturbed... their brother also left them and went to Sector 50. There was no one to console or talk to them."

Shocking story of the Noida sisters

This TV grab shows the elder sister Anuradha being rushed to the hospital on Tuesday where she died the following day

Their food came from some canteen, she said.

"The neighbours said the food used to be kept outside the door," she added.

Psychologists blame social apathy for sisters' locked-in stay

According to Sandeep Vohra, a psychiatrist, it could be a case of extreme emotional withdrawal.

"It could be extreme depression or depression underlined by some sort of psychotic element in it. In a case like this, both the daughters must have been emotionally dependent on their father and he may have been the one taking all the decisions for them," said Vohra.

This could also happen to people who are deeply introvert in nature, he added.

Shocking story of the Noida sisters

Residents of the locality are seen outside the sisters' building in this TV grab. Psychologists suggest acute social apathy led to sisters' plight

It could also be social apathy towards mental health that leads to situations like in Noida where two sisters remained locked up in their house for seven months while the neighbourhood failed to realise the gravity of their pain, psychologists said.

"There is so much stigma attached to mental health in the society that people don't come out to help those in need," city based psychologist Monica kumar told IANS Tuesday.

There is acute lack of awareness about the ways to help such people who move away into isolation, Kumar added.

Instead of abandoning people suffering from similar mental condition, they should be given proper psychological counselling and care and be involved in community activities, said the expert.

Psychologists are, however, uncertain about what caused the sisters to take such an extreme step.

Job Interviews: Answer 10 Tricky Questions

Think carefully before responding to these commonly-asked but tricky questions, during jobs interviews

By Parthip Thyagarajan

Business meeting

The formula for success in job interviews is not written in stone, especially when it comes to tricky questions. For instance if you are being interviewed for a sales position, a potential employer may ask you, “What would you do if a clients hinted at kickbacks?”

How would you respond? Will you appear shocked or deliver your answer with poise? Here are some suggestions on how to answer 10 such questions. Being prepared will give an edge, and not to mention, boost your confidence.

1. Tell us about a difficult relationship in your personal life you have had to cope with?

Don’t go into too many details about what happened, when and where. Don’t condemn the other person or defend yourself. Talk about what you had learnt from the experience.

2. Your boss-to-be is short-tempered, impatient and abrasive. Can you work with someone, of such a temperament?

Working with a short-tempered and very abrasive boss is not easy. Stating that you can effectively work under each and every person, in any and every situation will make you seem over-confident, and unrealistic. Do you get upset if you’re shouted or screamed at? Does it leave you de-motivated or disillusioned for long? If your answer to the latter question is in the negative, let the panel know that unpleasant experiences don’t weigh you down for too long.

3. Since you are in sales, some clients may hint at getting kick-backs. How will you handle such situations, since as a policy we don’t offer bribes?

When asked awkward questions like this, it helps if you plead ignorance. It may be also a test to check your views on bribes. They may ask if you have bribed anyone or what you would do, if you witnessed a government employee accepting a bribe. Tell them your personal experiences or views. Companies always respect individuals who are truthful and who possess a clear (not rigid) opinion on most matters.

4. Why have you fared averagely in Academics?

Many interviewers pay importance to what you have scored in your board examinations. If you had fared averagely and are asked to explain the reason, there’s not much you can do. It would help if you honestly admit that you have only yourself to blame (if that is really the case) and in future you will be clear about your priorities and work hard to achieve your goals.

5. Our industry requires a lot of social interaction with clients - over drinks and at parties. Are you comfortable with smoking and drinking?

Smoking isn’t cool. And many corporate head-honchos are teetotallers. It may be okay to say that you are uncomfortable around smokers and don’t enjoy social drinking. And do you really need to explain why you would not like to smoke or drink? No, it’s a personal choice.

If you’re applying for a job in an advertising or marketing consulting firm you may be asked if you’re okay with working on a tobacco or liquor account. If you feel you can never perform your job well, if the job involves promoting these products, then mention that you want to work on brands, which you are passionate about, and since you are convinced that tobacco or alcohol is injurious to health you may not be the best person to work on an account that involves actively promoting related brands.

6. Since you are a lady, and most of our clients are males, it is highly likely that some clients will try to be over-friendly. How will you handle such situations?

Will you be upset by such behaviour? If you’re confident that you can deal with such clients, only then tell the interviewers how you think you can be professional, yet not interact with clients who you’re uncomfortable with. Honesty is the best policy.

7. Tell us about your weaknesses?

What do you say besides the stereotyed ‘good’ weaknesses – impatience, over-enthusiasm? All of us have weaknesses, but do we need to mention all? And do you weaknesses surface all the time, or on occasions? For instance, while talking about your own traits such as a short temper or abrasiveness you can indicate that you display such traits or behaviour at some times only.

If your weakness is lack of time management, you could say that you are working on it and hope to overcome it over a period of time. Think about this and answer accordingly.

8. You will be replacing a person who we are letting go of. In the few weeks that you spend with him, you have to learn as much about his job so that you can continue doing his work effectively. Do you feel you are okay with this arrangement?

Not an easy situation to be in. While you can try your best to learn as much as you can, what will you do in case your predecessor does not cooperate and tell you all that you need to know? You could point out that you may need your organisation’s support, cooperation and intervention, if need be, in such a circumstance.

9. What if we hired you for one job profile and then change it within weeks?

Your response will depend on your future plans. If you’re interested in a sales job, because you want to pursue a career in marketing, then you’d obviously not want to work in finance or accounts. However, if you’re unsure which area interests you, and would like to learn about the different functions in an organisation, this might be a good opportunity to explore. You should preferably talk about why you prefer some roles or jobs. At the same time try to avoid talking about why you don’t like particular roles.

10. What salary do you expect? What if we told you we cannot pay you for the first three months?

State that since it is the start of your career, learning and experience are more important than salary. If you’re still asked to quote a specific amount give them a general indication on what you would like to earn. Don’t over-quote. If a company states that for whatever reason they won’t pay a salary for the first few months, make sure they are not one of those outfits, which exploit those who need work experience. If the organisation offers a good learning environment, tell them you’re joining the organisation for the valuable experience and you’re confident you’ll soon receive a salary commensurate with your performance.

Cardinal rules

1. Arrive preferably 15 minutes early, so you can relax, freshen up

2. Gauge the company dress code, dress appropriately

3. No unclean hair, sweaty visage or dirty hands with pen marks

4. Keep two copies of your rèsumè, handy

5. Carry a notepad and pen

6. Be poised, confident, but not too relaxed or over-confident.

7. If you’re unsure about an answer and need time to think, request the interviewer if you can take a minute to think and respond

8. Be patient, be courteous

9. Never interrupt even if the interviewer is stating a wrong fact. Let him complete the sentence and then respond. Words like ‘please’ and ‘thank you’ also go a long way

10. If there are two or more interviewers, make eye contact with all
