Scarlett Johansson Shows Her Curves At Venice Film Festival

Jaws surely dropped when Scarlett Johansson hit the red carpet at the Venice International Film Festival Tuesday.

Johansson looked gorgeous in a curve-hugging, off-the-shoulder Versace gown that conjured up feelings of Old Hollywood glamour. She topped the look off with a Bulgari High statement necklace and upswept hair.

The 28-year-old stunner arrived at Palazzo del Cinema on Sept. 3 for the premiere of Jonathan Glazer's sci-fi drama, "Under the Skin." The film is about an alien posing as a human named Laura (Johansson) who entraps men in Scotland using her seductive wiles.

"It’s hard to give a kind of warm-up line for the story because it’s almost like giving the plotline of a Bergman film, but I’m playing a character called Laura, who is an it that becomes a she," Johansson previously explained during an interview for Interview magazine. "That’s what the story’s about -- it’s about that transformation... It basically has no written dialogue, and I don’t think it’s really character-driven. Jon is an incredible visionary, and in the place I’m in right now, it feels really fresh. It might be an impossible project... [laughs] We’ll see."

The blond beauty said that to become the alien character she had to abandon "these very human instincts that we have, protecting ourselves and wanting to protect one another," per the Associated Press.

On Tuesday afternoon, fans waited for hours to see Johansson at a press junket for the flick. She smiled for photos and gave out autographs after arriving via water taxi.

Hilariously Bad Ads That Were Rejected

Originating in the UK, the annual Chip Shop Awards is an international creative award for un-used advertising ideas that celebrates creativity with “no limits”.

“The Chips is all about ideas. Your work does not have to have been broadcast, printed or mailed. The Clients doesn't have to be yours. You just need a brilliant idea”

This results in some hilariously bad ideas that don’t meet with the client’s approval—mainly because they are politically incorrect, insensitive, offensive or just in bad taste.

When Photoshop Goes Bad: Some of The Best Gaffes

Photoshop has been used to commit some outrageous crimes against fact-based photography. However, here are some of the highlights, with links to more.

Microsoft was forced to apologise after its Polish arm changed a promotional image of three employees to change the apparent race of a black man to white

When Photoshop goes bad: some of the best gaffes

Could this be the 'original' BP image?

This list is inspired by BP's admission that it changed an image of its command centre overseeing the team tackling the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico to make staff look busier but other giant firms and even nations have been embarrassed by similar errors.

Iran was caught out after it apparently doctored images of a multiple missile launch, to hide the fact that one of them failed to go off.

Microsoft was forced to apologise after its Polish arm changed a promotional image of three employees to change the apparent race of a black man to white, and even failed to change the hand to match.

Britain's former culture secretary James Purnell faked his presence at a photo shoot after he arrived late.

Awards have also mistakenly been given out for manipulated images.

A Chinese photographer claimed to have proven that the controversial Qinghai-Tibet railway was not detrimental to wildlife with an image that showed both rare antelopes and a train, and was awarded for the photo. However, he was later shown to have faked it.

Bombshell Diane Kruger Pays Homage to Brigitte Bardot in Allure

By Sophie Forbes

After 18 years in the spotlight, Diane Kruger could be forgiven for wanting to slow down.

But at 33, the model turned actress's career is in the ascendancy, with three movies in production.

And as she posed for a sultry Sixties inspired cover shoot for Allure magazine it was easy to see why.

Inspiration: Screen siren Brigitte Bardot in 1968

With tousled hair and sultry poses, she channelled screen siren Brigitte Bardot for the shoot.

'Everyone wants to make her look like old Hollywood, but we thought it would be great to do a Sixties look,' said make-up artist Gucci Westman, who worked alongside photographer Michael Thompson.

Inglorious Basterds star Kruger had worked with Thompson several times before, even featuring on the cover of his 2005 book, Michael Thompson: Images.

Posing in nothing but a jumper for one shot, the German born actress oozed sex appeal before changing into a magnificent Jason Wu couture gown.

Her boyfriend, actor Joshua Jackson, was keen to see her in action, showing up at the crew break to join her for lunch.

The pair, who have been together since 2006, stood with their arms round each whilst surveying the food on offer.

When asked if marriage was in their future Kruger said it probably isn't on the cards.

'I'm not religious, so that aspect of it means nothing,' she said. 'And don't get me wrong—I believe in commitment.

'But out of experience I know if that goes away, no paper you have signed will keep you around.'

Kruger may have developed her poor opinion of marriage after getting divorced in 2006 from her husband of five years, French actor Guillaume Canet.

The full interview is in Allure, out now

She met Dawson's Creek star Jackson shortly after and they have been together ever since.

After a successful modelling career which started in 1992 when she won the Elite Model Managements Look of the Year competition, aged just 15, Kruger said she developed a strict beauty regime.

'I must be very careful with my skin from modelling and working under hot lights; I break out easily,' she said.

'I never go to sleep without taking off my make-up.'

Kruger made the successful transition from model to actress in Troy in 2004.

She will next hit the big screen in 'Inhale' with Sam Shepard and Rosanna Arquette about a couple who go to dangerous lengths to find a lung donor for their dying daughter.

It is due out later this year. She also has 2 films in pre production. 'Unknown White Male' and 'Special Forces' are both due out in 2011.
