Ever since she arrived in India after winning her Olympic medal, Mary Kom's life has been packed.
She spent some days in Delhi when she landed, grappling with a whirl of press conferences, appearances and interviews.
But what we found her doing, oddly enough, was playing guitar in the middle of this whirligig!
"I've had a passion for singing since childhood," Mary said when she was here.
"My husband is also a music lover and he plays the guitar quite well, so whenever there is a function at home, we have a jam session."
Does she plan to take up singing seriously, we asked. Mary smiled, "My first love is boxing and it'll stay that way. Singing is just a hobby. I enjoy listening to good music.
I've watched a few reality shows and kabhi kabhi sochti hoon ki main bhi udhar jaake gaana gaun, lekin mere mein utna sur nahin hai.
Once my husband told me, why we don't do shows together? I couldn't stop laughing. I told him, who'll come to watch our performances?
But mera dream hai ki ek din I will sing on stage before a huge audience, with my husband playing the guitar."
If given a chance, would she do a live concert? An excited Mary said, "Why not? I've been considering doing a show for my people in Manipur.
If I get some free time, I might do a charity show soon and raise some money towards improving the state of sports in Manipur," she said. Piyali
