Martyrs' Day’ : The Pictures Says it all..


Hmarkhawlien, May 17 :
May 16 was commemorated by Hmars living around the world as ‘Martyrs' Day’ remembering the sacrifices made by many people be it the the social, literature and political aspirations of Hmar people.

Meanwhile in Manipur, the moment was commemorated  with Football Martyr's trophy, at Rengkai. Hmar households in Manipur hung their traditional shawls flying within their respective compound the entire day to mark their observance of Hmar Martyrs' day.

In Assam’s Dima Hasao district and Hmarkhawlien, Hmar people paid respects to the heroic sacrifices with traditional dances and gatherings. 

Hmars in Hmarram areas also solemnly celebrated the event by hanging out flag of the Hmar puon.

In Mizoram, Hmar especially living in
Sinlung Hills Development Council, paid tributes to the heroics of the fallen HPC cadres in the struggle for the development of Hmar people.
