Naga Hoho Shares Solidarity With AASU

AASU Kohima, Sep 22 : The Naga Hoho, the apex traditional body of all Naga tribes, has expressed its solidarity with the All Assam Students' Union (AASU) over the unfortunate incident on September 15 last and appealed to AASU to review the actions against Nagaland.

In a press statement, Naga Hoho President Keviletuo Kiewhuo and General Secretary P Chuba Ozukum appealed the Government of Assam and the collective leaders AASU to review their agenda of imposing 'detrimental actions' against the Naga people so as to maintain the sisterly relationship which have been enjoyed by both the states since time immemorial.

It was observed that there were contradictory versions of the incident by the parties involved.

In this regard, the Hoho said it strongly feels that the episode was very unfortunate and both the parties should have maintained utmost restraint in order to avoid such incidences of adverse consequences.

Maintaining that the setting up of an enquiry commission by the State Government calls for a thorough investigation into the circumstances leading to the unwanted situation is timely and laudable, the Naga Hoho appealed to the concerned authority to accomplish the mission within the stipulated time in the interest of both the states, the statement added.
