Frances Bean Cobain Is Gorgeous

Frances-Been-Cobain-Is-Gorgeous-Header

Frances Bean Cobain is one dark smuldering beautiful mess. She exudes the kind of sensuality that is hard to manufacture, yet at the tender age of 18 she does it with the ease that comes naturally to the likes of classic sex goddesses like Elizabeth Taylor and Marilyn Monroe. Her sexuality and brooding intensity spreads out like cold fire from these pics taken by Heidi Slimane and grabs you in the gut, knocking you over, leaving you gasping for air, and wanting more more more.

If you’re old enough to remember the 90′s you already know that she’s the daughter of Kurt Cobain (Nirvana) and Courtney Love (Hole). Named after Frances Mckee, the guitarist for The Vaselines, she got her middle name “Bean” because daddy Kurt thought she looked like a kidney bean on her ultrasound… Aww, cute.

Her life wasn’t all puppies and rainbows though. Just like everyone who grew up in the sixties remembers where they were when JFK was shot - everyone who grew up in the nineties – remembers where they were when Kurt Cobain died. At the cursed age of 27 Cobain left this earthly plane in a shroud of mystery befit a rock star of his caliber leaving the world with a mess of a wife and a beautiful daughter to carry on his legacy.

We all have this morbid fascination with the progeny of celebrities. I’m not the only one waiting for Suri Cruise to grow up so I can witness the train wreck that will be, but in the case of Frances Bean Cobain, I’m happy to report this barely legal celebrity by association as turned out to be one cool as chick.

Sure, these pics might not be as dirty and raunchy as some of you peps might like (although you do get some see through nipple action), but hotdamn is this little bean ever gorgeous, and you know that with a back tattoo that is an homage to Quentin Crisp – an eccentric legendary gay icon and pervy raconteur – that she’s got more going for her than her genes and pretty facade. Oh, how I would love to take a peek under those covers.

Child Sexual Abuse On Rise in Mizoram

Prevent_Child_Abuse

Aizawl, Aug 15
: Sexual abuses against underage girls have increased at an alarming rate in Mizoram, with more than 50 per cent of rape cases registered during the last ten years.

According to official records, 635 cases of rape were registered during the period of 2001 to 2011, of which 336 were sexual abuses against minor girls.

With grave concern over the increasing rape incidents, Chief Minister Lal Thanhawla convened a meeting of concerned officials, including law minister Lalsawta, here today to find ways to ensure harsher punishment for rapists, especially child abusers.

Deeply concerned at the increasing rape incidents, especially child sexual abuses, the government has felt a strong need for more stringent law on child abuse to ensure that the culprits get harsher punishment and the victim gets justice at the earliest possible time, Lal Thanhawla said.

He pointed out that the Protection of Child Rights Act 2007 had been amended to ensure that the children fully enjoy their rights and he invited advices and suggestions from social activists in drafting laws.

The consultation meeting was attended by law secretary P Singthanga, senior police officials, officials of law and other concerned departments, advocates, NGOs and social activists.

Indian PM Warns On Graft on Independence Day

Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh (C) walks in heavy rain as he inspects a guard of honour of Indian troops at The Red Fort in New Delhi on August 15, 2011, on India's 65th Independence Day.

New Delhi, Aug 15 : India's prime minister used his Independence Day address Monday to try to reassure the country his government was taking "the strictest possible action" against corruption after a string of scandals.

Manmohan Singh, speaking behind a bullet-proof screen in driving monsoon rains, stressed there was no "magic wand" to eradicate the problem of graft but he promised a multi-pronged approach.

He pledged greater transparency in government, a more effective justice system, a new law on public procurement and a powerful new ombudsman tasked with investigating and prosecuting corrupt officials.

"We are taking the strictest possible action in cases of corruption that have surfaced," Singh said from the ramparts of New Delhi's 16th-century Red Fort.

Over the last year, a former telecom minister in Singh's government has been arrested and another has resigned over the flawed sale of telecom licences in 2008.

Meanwhile, the former head of last year's Commonwealth Games faces trial for embezzlement, while the chief ministers of two Indian states have resigned over land and mining scandals respectively.

"Today the world recognises our potential to be one of the major economic powers globally. But the problem of corruption is a big obstacle in such a transformation," Singh warned.

Police and soldiers were out in force across India on Independence Day, which celebrates the end of British colonial rule on the subcontinent, as security was ramped up.

A senior home ministry official said security measures were being increased in New Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai and Kolkata, as well as Mumbai, where police are probing triple bombings on July 13.

The three co-ordinated explosions killed 26 people and injured 130, but no group claimed responsibility and detectives have struggled to unearth who was behind the attack.

"Last month's terrorist attacks in Mumbai warn us that there cannot be any slip up in our vigilance as far as the fight against terrorism is concerned," Singh said, echoing President Pratibha Patil in her customary address on the eve of Independence Day.

Heavily-armed commandos backed by snipers and rapid-action squads guarded the Red Fort in the crowded centre of Delhi.

Security was also raised in insurgency-hit Kashmir and India's seven restive northeastern states including Manipur, where several separatist groups have called for a boycott of Monday's celebrations.

Elsewhere during his address, Singh promised unspecified action on inflation, which is inching back up towards double digits, causing huge hardship to the poor.

"Finding a solution to this problem will be our top-most priority in the coming months," he said.

He also issued a rallying call for businesses to create jobs for the aspirational young, warning politicians not to stand in the way of factories or development projects for short-term political gains.

"We should all stay away from politics that create suspicion or apprehension amongst those connected with industry, business and investment," he said.

He acknowledged, however, that the government had a duty to ensure that inequalities in wealth did not cause social problems.

"It is not an ordinary achievement for our democracy with a population of 120 crore (1.2 billion) and so many religions, languages and cultures to march rapidly ahead on the path of development," he said.

"But we must ensure that inequalities do not increase even as we develop rapidly."

Korea Charms Manipur Youths

A girl gets a hair cut.

Imphal, Aug 15 : For four days, young and old fans of Korean culture made a beeline for Manipur Press Club, Imphal, where an 11-member team from Seoul has come down to dispense free medial treatment through acupuncture, medicines, haircuts and gifts.

Pai Hyee Jou, a Korean painter, was stunned when Mapui, a young Manipuri girl, addressed her in fluent Korean.

The impressed painter gave her name and the two chatted for nearly half-an-hour.

“It has always been my dream of meeting and speaking to a Korean and I realised the dream when I spoke to the painter,” Mapui said.

The team came to Imphal for missionary activities.

M. Manichouba of Uripok in Imphal, the pastor of an Imphal-based evangelical church, is leading the team.

He organised the team’s trip through his contacts in Seoul, where he had stayed for theological studies from 1996 to 1998.

Korean films, songs and serials are an instant hit in Manipur.

Many of them have even learnt Korean through TV lessons.

The organisers had employed Manipuri youths fluent in Korean to communicate with the team.

Korean culture has always fascinated youths in Imphal. It has become fashionable for Manipuri boys and girls to sport Korean haircuts and dresses.

Most video parlours in the city have more Koreans films than Hollywood or Manipuri films and the youths are more familiar with Korean actor Rain than Shah Rukh Khan.

“It is a pleasant surprise that so many Manipuris know Korean. I really love these young boys and girls,” Jou said.

Joseph, a 21-year-old, who got a Korean haircut, said, “We visited many saloons in Imphal, which claim to provide authentic Korean haircuts. But I have never been satisfied. Today’s hairdo is perfect,” he said.

Manichouba said the plan was to give service to 60 people a day.

“But the response was so overwhelming that the team had to work beyond the scheduled hours,” he said.

People started thronging the venue even two hours before the start of the daily programme.

The team began work at 10am and was supposed to finish by 2pm.

However, they had to work till 3pm daily during the four-day camp that concluded today.

“This is our first visit. We are happy with the response. Our trip and the people’s response would improve the relationship between Manipur and Korea,” Cho Tae Soo said.

'Scamsters' Go Scot Free, Assam Govt-NIA Mum

Niranjan HojaiGuwahati, Aug 15 : The Gauhati High Court on Saturday (August 13) granted interim bail to militant outfit Dima Halam Daoga (Jewel)'s chief Jewel Garlosa and self-styled commander-in-chief Niranjan Hojai.

Chief Justice Madan Lokur and Justice Hrishikesh Roy granted them interim bail for four months in the interest of taking forward the peace talks.

The High Court had admitted the bail petition of Garlosa and Hojai on August three and served a notice to the state and the central government.

The bail petition was moved to the High Court after the court of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) rejected the bail plea of the two despite the NIA public prosecutor having submitted a no-objection certificate from the ministry of home affairs and the state home department for their release in a bid to take forward the peace process with the banned outfit.

Garlosa was arrested on June 4, 2009 from Bangalore and Hojai from Nepal in July 2010 in connection with the NIA investigations relating to the case of diversion of North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council development funds to the militant outfit for procurement of arms.

The DHD(J) had declared an unilateral ceasefire in October 2009 and announced it was keen to hold peace talks with the government.
