Morning Sex: A Dilemma

Morning Sex: A Dilemma'It's in the morning I wanna touch, it's in the morning I wanna love you, it's in the morning no interruptions, it's in the morning ... " goes singer Robin Thicke's popular number 'It's in the morning', but do women really warm up to men's desire for a great 'morning wood'?

When I wake up and see her soft, undressed body beside me, her eyes closed and mouth slightly open, like a dainty little angel that just fell from the sky, I feel a burning desire to love her, badly. These are the feelings of men who wake up with a hard-on, and men who are simply in love with the idea of morning sex.

Unfortunately, most women do not share the same enthusiasm for morning glory as they feel bedroom activity is best reserved for nighttime. The sexual expressions of men and women have for centuries been a subject for debate. Here's a lowdown on why men crave for a steamy sexual romp at that hour, while women would rather get on with the day, pronto.

Says Dr. Kamal Khurana, a Delhi-based marriage and relationship expert, " Sex is a biological need, and you tend to relish it most when relaxed. A man feels most expressive when he wakes up as fantasies are touching him at that hour. And to find his partner lying next to him triggers an urge for sex." Dr. Khurana believes that place and availability are also reasons to initiate early action among men. "But in the case of women, she needs to be emotionally triggered first," he adds.

Morning Sex: A Dilemma

Then why do women not feel that emotional connect in the very hours, and are in a rush to begin the day? "In India, such a trend has been identified only in the last decade. In today's scenario both the partners go for work and return spent at the end of the day.

The stress levels are very high at nighttime, and to get into the mood for a stormy lovemaking session may not come naturally," explains Dr. Bhavna Barmi, senior clinical psychologist at Escorts Heart Institute.

She relates women's abstinence from sex first-thing-in-the-morning to their higher emotional and sexual maturity. "Men would first like to rejuvenate and then start the stressful day ahead. Blame it on the multi-tasking required right from the morning of a working woman.

From showering, readying breakfast, to packing off the kids, if any, to school, it is multi-tasking all the way for her. While, the only responsibility of a man is to look after his personal hygiene and plan the day ahead," she elaborates. "And sex can become a tad mechanical when both the partners are not at the same emotional level," she adds.

Morning Sex: A Dilemma

Dr. Rajendra Barve, a psychiatrist at the IIT hospital, Mumbai, feels that this brief mismatch in their need for physical intimacy can cause serious strain on a relationship. "There is more freshness in the morning, the growth hormones are pumping, and the vigour of the body is restored from a good night's sleep. But when a woman wakes up, she is pre-occupied about the daylong chores and may not be instantly switched on by the idea," says Dr. Barve. Perhaps, a woman's way of looking at sex is very different from that of men. As Dr. Barve reasons, "A woman feels the urge for sex when she is emotionally aroused, while a man's sex drive is governed by power, and a tendency to win over situations."

"At that hour, if a couple do not experience an emotional and physical high in unison, it can get very difficult for them in the long run. And lovemaking would, little by little, turn into a mundane act between them," he says. But is there a way men can get their women interested in morning glory?

Morning Sex: A Dilemma

"As the man you need to wake up a little early and finish with your washing up, before slipping back into the covers again - fresh and fragrant - next to her," says Ashish, 33, a team leader with an international banking company.

To keep a condom handy is another sensible thing to do, he tells us. "A woman likes to be woken up gently, and showered with plenty of caresses and kisses as she opens her eyes," shares Aditi, 28, an engineer who has recently tied the knot.

After all it's not that difficult to get your girl interested in morning sex, simply do not scurry, and remember patience and understanding her mood are most valuable in that glorious hour. Start with a warm welcoming smile, follow it up with a tender kiss on her forehead, and you will manage to get that sensual moan out of her!

The Gang With The Golden Guns

AK47 and silencer among haul of gaudy weaponry confiscated from Mexican drug lords

By James White

Death tolls continues to rise in merciless drug war

In a country as lawless as Mexico, it seems fitting that top crime lords want to show off their ill-gotten wealth.

So what better way than getting their hands on a gold-plated assault rifle, together with some diamond-encrusted handguns?

These were the gaudy weapons found by security services during a raid on a farm near Guadalajara, central Mexico.

Gold AK47

Showing off: A gold-plated AK47 automatic rifle and a gold-plated silencer were among the haul of weaponry displayed by police in Guadalajara, Mexico

The haul also included a patterned gold-plated silencer for the rifle, an AK47.

Officers showed off drugs and stolen police equipment recovered during the raid as they battle to turn the tide against drug cartels which have plunged the country into chaos.

More than 28,000 people - many of them completely innocent - have died in the past four years as rival gangs struggle to control the lucrative cocaine trade.

President Felipe Calderon declared a war on drugs in 2006 but has come in for severe criticism over the appalling numbers of killings which have include mass murders and the shooting of babies.

This week has seen a rash of decapitations and other gruesome killings in the border city of Tijuana since the President visited it last week, declaring it a success in his war.

Three headless bodies were found hanging from their feet, while a human head was found in a bag in an unconnected case.

Gold guns Mexico

Gaudy: A gold-plated Colt Super 38 Automatic handgun was recovered by security services in the desperate battle against Mexican drug cartels

In total 16 people have been killed in the city since Sunday - a surge from the normal rate of 'just' two killings per day.

Some resident feared the cartels were trying to send a message just as the city is trying to promote itself to the outside world.

Calderon last week inaugurated 'Innovative Tijuana,' a two-week festival featuring discussions on aerospace, auotomotives and other industries that drive the city's economy.

Former Vice President Al Gore is scheduled to give a speech about the environment as part of the festival today.

'Obviously, they don't want it to seem like we are a society of good people. That's why they are doing these things again,' said Victoria Perez Bernal, a retired dentist who along with 2,000 others attended the inauguration of the festival last week.

'But what they don't know is that people are tired of this and we are starting to get organised.'

Chihuahua killings

Killings: Six prison guards were murdered in the northern city of Chihuahua, Mexico, on Wednesday as they travelled to work

Violence peaked in Tijuana in 2008 amid a showdown between two crime bosses - Fernando 'The Engineer' Sanchez Arellano and Teodoro 'El Teo' Garcia Simental, a renegade lieutenant who rose through the ranks by dissolving bodies in vats of lye.

Garcia was arrested last January. While killings have continued, the most gruesome displays of cartel violence - decapitations, hangings and daylight shootouts - had subsided.

That sort of violence has continued to plague other cities in Mexico's northern states of Chihuahua, Nuevo Leon and Tamaulipas.

Tijuana killings

Grim: Locals look at the headless body of a man found in Tijuana, just one of many killings in the city

In Chihuahua state yesterday, six prison guards were killed while driving to work in Chihuahua city, the state's capital, authorities reported.

In the northern state of Sinaloa, two police officers were killed when gunmen ambushed their patrol in Mazatlan.

It was the second ambush of police in Sinaloa this week - eight officers were killed Monday when gunmen opened fire on their patrol cars.

iPhone vs Android Phones

iPhone vs 4 Android phones

The year 2010 saw several big smartphone launches including the Apple iPhone 4.

However, the past few months have seen the Google Android revolution sweeping across the smartphone world.

Hardware giants like Dell, Samsung and HTC are boasting of a strong Android-powered smartphone line-up to challenge the iPhone dominance.

So, here's looking into how iPhone compares to the new breed of Android-based smartphones.

Apple iPhone 4

Apple iPhone 4

Apple’s champion smartphone is now 9.3mm thin and adorned with a stunning hi-res “retina” display.
It sports a 1GHz A4 processor (as used in the iPad), built-in noise cancelling, a 5MP camera with HD video capture and a new glass sandwich form. It has got a metal antenna on the outside and we’ve found no major downturn in signal reception compared to the 3GS. A three-axis gyroscope joins the accelerometer and compass to allow for six-axis motion control. The App Store is so far ahead of its rivals in both quantity and quality that it’s in a league of its own.
Verdict Despite valiant attempts from all comers to knock it from its throne, the iPhone 4 still rules by far. OS: iOS 4
Display: 3.5in, 640x960 LCD capacitive touchscreen
Camera/video: 5MP, front-facing VGA, 720p@ 30fps
Storage: 16GB/32GB
Connectivity: 3G, A-GPS , Bluetooth 2.1, USB, Wi-Fi
Battery: 7hrs talk

HTC Desire

HTC Desire

HTC’s Desire is the only Android device here to have been updated to the latest 2.2 “Froyo” version of Google’s OS.

Everything zips along on HTC’s brilliant Sense interface. Screen transitions are smooth and web pages fly into the WebKit browser window. With the update comes a string of new features, including a Wi-Fi Hotspot app which lets you piggyback up to eight Wi-Fi devices onto the phone’s 3G connection.

Video recording gets a boost from WVGA to 720p but quality is still average at best. Footage is a little drab and lifeless, and tends to drop the frame rate as you shoot. On the plus side there’s Flash 10.1 support (handy for YouTube) and the ability to sync with iTunes. But the Desire stands out as the most user-friendly , well made Android handset yet. Verdict Android at its best, and the Sense interface proves custom skins are more than eye candy
OS: Android 2.2

Display: 3.7in, 480x800, AMOLED capacitive touchscreen
Camera/video: 5MP, 720p@ 24fps
Storage: 512MB + microSD
Connectivity: 3G, A-GPS , Bluetooth 2.1, USB, Wi-Fi
Battery: 6hrs 30m talk
Price: 28,900

Samsung Galaxy S

Samsung Galaxy S

The massive 4 inch touchscreen of the Galaxy S beats the iPhone’s display in many areas:
brightness, contrast and viewing angle are second to none. It looks great but it’s a shame those good looks don’t continue through to the build quality. The plastic rear cover feels as though it might blow off on a windy day; you certainly wouldn’t fancy its chances in an encounter with the pavement.

Screen aside, the Galaxy’s big pull is its camera. The flashless 5MP snapper produces shots of amazing vibrancy in daylight, all the better to view on that incredible screen. And there’s stunning hi-def video capture too. The new 1GHz processor motors along, so you won’t be waiting around for apps to load or encountering bumpy transitions. Verdict Powerful and user-friendly , with one of the best screens ever to grace a smartphone OS: Android 2.1
Display: 4in, 480x800, Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen
Camera/video: 5MP, front-facing VGA, 720p@ 30fps
Storage: 8GB + microSD
Connectivity: 3G, A-GPS , Bluetooth 3.0, USB, Wi-Fi
Battery: 6hrs 30m talk
Price: 31,500

Dell Streak

Dell Streak

For a phone, the Streak is huge: you get a 5 inch touchscreen within a substantial body
that weighs around half as much as the rest in this test. Arguably it’s more of a tablet computer than a mobile, but it has a camera and will fit into a large pocket.Start to play and you feel the full benefit of that extra screen space.
Web browsing is quick, and video playback doesn’t disappoint either, although the speaker, which peeps through a crack in the back, gets muted if you lay it flat on a table. However, taking a phone call on a 5 inch tablet will make you feel a bit odd in public. Verdict Dell’s tablet-style take on the smartphone proves big can be beautiful, and portable. OS: Android 1.6
Display: 5in, 480x800 capacitive touchscreen
Camera/video: 5MP, front-facing VGA, VGA@ 30fps
Storage: 512MB + microSD
Connectivity: 3G, A-GPS , Bluetooth 2.1, USB, Wi-Fi
Battery: 8hrs talk
Price: 35,000

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10

With an 8.1MP camera proudly centred on the back of the phone, the X10 makes no bones about its stand-out feature.
It follows up on that promise with excellent shots for a mobile. Colours veer towards saturation and detail levels don’t match those of a decent 8MP digicam, but in daylight it makes a respectable opportunist snapper. At 13mm, it’s the fattest of the phones here. That thickness doesn’t translate into solidity though.
Clutch the phone tightly and you can hear the components creaking against each other. Switch it on, though, and those first impressions dissolve. Sony Ericsson’s custom skin is clean and simple, while the powerful 1GHz Snapdragon processor makes light work of navigating around it. Verdict Average 8.1MP snapper, and build needs work too, but ease of use, impresses. Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 OS: Android 1.6
Display: 4in, 480x854 capacitive touchscreen
Camera/video: 8.1MP, VGA@ 30fps
Storage: 1GB + microSD
Connectivity: 3G, A-GPS , Bluetooth 2.1, USB,Wi-Fi
Battery: 8hrs talk time

Another Hassle in Mizoram’s Bru Refugee Problem

Bru Displaced refugees Agartala, Oct 15 : In a new twist to the Bru refugee problem, the Bru Displaced Welfare Organisation (BDWO) today expressed dismay over the ongoing preparation for the settlement of refugees after they are being repatriated to Mizoram.

With a view to the smoothly running of development and administration, the BDWO wants to remain as a model village under the district of Mamit only but the inclusion of Lunglei and Kolasib districts was against the will of the organisation.

John Lalnuntlunga, general secretary of Bru organisation on Thursday viewed that the Mizoram Government and the Centre should hold wide-ranging talks with the Mizoram Bru Displaced People’s Forum (MBDPF) leaders to discuss on the current deadlock at the earliest.

The Mizoram Government is striving for meaningless repatriation of Bru refugees in consultation with the then MBDPF president Elvis Chorkhy. “It is not a curative measure and not the initiative measure as well and therefore the refugee body may be symbolically compelled to launch the unprecedented democratic agitation rally and indefinite hunger strike in Aizawl and in Delhi.

“Whenever we restraint to the meaningless repatriation of Bru refugees, we were wrongly blamed as against the Government order but the reality is to reach out our satisfaction of signing an agreement and not orally’, he pointed out.

It alleged that there has been no credible response to the refugees’ desire for resolving the dispute. “It was Elvis Chorkhy who was the wrong doer even after he has been kicked out from the president ship of MBDPF in accordance with the constitution of MBDPF”, he added.

“We feel surprise at the way Mizoram Government is handling the issue with Elvis Chorkhy and this is absolutely baseless.

Even though, we are still expecting to give fresh impetus to the repatriating progress of Bru refugees but the Mizoram Government should draw attention to the majority voice of the people”, he said.

Commonwealth Games Sex Volunteers!

'We didn't volunteer for sex'

By Astha Saxena

Student volunteers have alleged sexual harassment by senior colleagues and Organising Committee officials

They thought it was about national pride but what they had to go through is nothing short of national shame.

Several girls from the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, who joined as student volunteers for the Commonwealth Games, have alleged their senior colleagues and officials attached to the Organising Committee harassed them sexually.
alt
At least two girls posted at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium have resigned, alleging their seniors asked for sexual favours. However, under family pressure they were not able to file any formal complaint against the accused officials. When the harassment didn't stop, they left their jobs.

"My senior assured me relaxed working hours and incentives, if I obliged him," said one of the volunteers who stopped reporting for work at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, the showpiece venue for the Games.

"Our parents did not want us to go there again. They were worried about our security," said another volunteer, who was also harassed at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.

Both girls, refusing to divulge their identities, claimed there have been several cases across venues but no formal complaints, as the accused either threaten the victims or try to coax them into not registering complaints.

"A lot of them also give in to family pressure and the stigma for the whole family," one of the victims told MiD DAY.More than 2,700 girls from the Indraprastha University have been volunteering for the Commonwealth Games.

Authoritative sources across Games venues have confirmed that several girls have been "asked out" by their seniors.

"By offering incentives, seniors ask for sexual favours," said one of the volunteers at Thyagraj Stadium, venue for the Netball event.Another volunteer alleged that the workforce manager Mrs Prerna used to "send the girls to some specific officials" for random work.

"She would send us to one Mr Pramod who used to ask girls out for coffee and dinner," said a victim.

Yet another volunteer at Indira Gandhi Stadium claimed that Abhay, assistant manager, volunteers, have been asking for sexual favours from the girls.

Complaints were also heard against the head of the technical department, Saumesh, at the Yamuna Sports Complex. "Most of the girls are apprehensive of his "over-friendly" behaviour," said a girl posted at the complex, situated in east Delhi.

Even the university officials seem to be aware of the issue but they said they were yet to receive a formal complaint."It is shocking. Our university is actively participating in the event.

This kind of behaviour is intolerable and strict action should be taken against the culprits," said Vibhor Anand, Head Convener, Commonwealth Games, Student's volunteer programme, IP University.

"I have not heard any such complaint. We will bar all volunteers from Games duties, as soon as I get any such complaint. Also, we will officially look into the matter by filing a written complaint with the Organising Committee," said Professor DK Bandyopadhyay, Vice-Chancellor, IP University.

The volunteers staged a protest outside the Organising Committee (OC) office on Tuesday. The volunteers were complaining about the "rude" behaviour of their seniors.

"They are treating us like peons. We are made to clean the floors and have also been asked to pick the garbage," said Santosh, one of the volunteers who protested outside the OC office."In fact we are asked to work odd hours. It is becoming difficult for us to work in such environment," said Anita, another volunteer present at the protest. Rajan Bhagat, PRO, Delhi police said he received no such complaints.

Out of action

More than 4,500 volunteers had backed out alleging that the OC had betrayed them by promising money at the time of recruiting them and going back on it at the eleventh hour. The volunteers, most of them students from the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, were threatened by the varsity authorities that if they would not join their duty "action" would be taken against them.

Out of the 31,000 volunteers, 6,125 had enrolled from the IP University alone.

Volunteers were engaged for performing a range of duties during the games like acting travel and tour guides around venues and airports, working with the media units and helping out the traffic police in managing vehicle flow around the venues.

The Other Side

Mrs Prerna, workforce manager, Thyagraj Stadium, Abhay, Assistant Manager, volunteers, Indira Gandhi Stadium, and Saumesh, of the spectators department at the Yamuna Sports Complex, did not respond to our calls. Even text messages were ignored by these officials.

Organising Committee Secretary General Lalit Bhanot said there is no substance to the
allegations. No such case has come to light, so far, he added.
