How Parents Fail!

Website exposes the bum mums and bad dads with questionable parenting skills

At the local firing range, in a sandwich, stuck to a wall with tape... these are not the kinds of places you'd expect to find a baby.

But as the incredible - and disturbing - photos below show, some parents think nothing of popping their loved one in the microwave or giving them a Hitler doll to play with.

Guaranteed to give social workers nightmares, the images are taken from new website ParentFails.com, which aims to chronicle 'all the funny moments when parenting goes horribly, and hilariously, wrong'.

Baby looks shocked at his dad's choice of reading material

One worryingly common theme sees babies snapped in the place of food: whether nestling in an enormous sandwich or providing the centrepiece to a traditional Indian meal.

And babies are also shown getting up close and personal with the family pets - even when that pet is an enormous snake.

The photos evoke memories of celebrity parenting blunders, like Britney Spears driving with her son on her lap, or Michael Jackson dangling his daughter over a hotel balcony.

But these parents probably see the funny side: photos are submitted by the public, and most were probably sent in by the parents themselves.

Whether the children will find it quite so amusing when they stumble across old photo albums in years to come is another matter.

A Baby Boy With 34 Fingers Sets Record

Bareilly baby boy with 34 fingers and toes sets new Guinness record

baby 34 fingers

Bareilly (Uttar Pradesh), Jul 21
: Akshat, a baby boy over the age of one, registered his name in the Guinness world records for having a total of 34 fingers and toes.

He has set the record for having the highest number of fingers and toes and hails from the Bareilly district in Uttar Pradesh.

Amrita Saxena, the mother of the child, said it was difficult for her to believe that her son broke the world record, until a family friend convinced her.

"He (family friend) read on the internet about the baby born in China with 31 fingers. Then he said that my boy has broken the record of having 34 fingers. At first, I was not convinced at all. It was hard to believe that my son has broken the record. But later, he along with my husband and my younger sister registered the data in the Internet. Then I was asked to submit certain documents after which his name was in the Guinness World Records," added Saxena.

Doctors attending to the child informed the mediapersons that it was a rare phenomenon and diagnosed it as polydactyly.

"The person who is diagnosed with it is polydactylic. It is due to certain defects in the bone development of the uterus. The reason behind this defect can be either developmental congenital formation or chromosomal anomalies, which is due to maternal infection or drugs," said Dr. Parul Gupta, a gynaecologist.

Gupta further explained that this congenital physical anomaly could be easily cured by performing a surgery.

"Yes, it is absolutely curable. Mostly people go for plastic surgery. And sometimes when polydactyly is minimal, it can be cured normally, without an operation. And if there is a major problem, then people prefer to go for a plastic surgery," added Gupta.

Meanwhile Saxena was a little worried for her son's future. She aspires for her son to lead a 'normal' life and wants him to undergo proper treatment for it.

It is quite interesting to know that Polydactyly or polydactylism is also known as hyperdactyly. It is a congenital physical anomaly in humans, dogs, and cats having supernumerary fingers or toes.

The Australian Farmer Who Set Up An Outback Brothel To Support His Quadraplegic Wife

Documentary Follows Farmer Building Brothel to Support Quadriplegic Wife

By Hollie McKay

A GOOD MAN 640

The day after Rachel Rohrlach and her soon-to-be-husband, farmer Chris Rohrlach, announced they were expecting their first child, Rachel suffered a debilitating stroke that left her a quadriplegic.

Rachel was just 21. Her son was born while she was in a coma.

Fast forward several years later and the rigors of an Australian drought, raising their teenage son and the addition of a new baby proved to be a great financial burden, so Chris and two friends came up with the controversial solution to build and manage a brothel.

Their trials and tribulations, and the outrage of their small farming community, is captured in Safina Uberoi’s documentary, “A Good Man.” Although set in rural Australia, Uberoi is confident the documentary will resonate with American audiences.

“It is an intensely human story. I have shown it in remote mining towns in Australia, in a busy metropolis in India, in downtown Amsterdam, in a barrio in Venezuela, in a library in Washington. And everywhere the film elicits this warm and emotional response,” she told FOX411’s Pop Tarts after screening the film at the Los Angeles Film Festival. “At some point we all have to ask ourselves – what will I do for love? What am I prepared to do for the love of a friend, a husband, a wife, a lover, a parent, a child, a beloved pet?”

Another question the film then ponders is whether one can be a successful pimp, while at the same time maintaining the status-quo of a happy, healthy husband and father.

“Chris entered the brothel business all gung ho. He thought the hard part was building the brothel and after that it would just run itself. But Chris had no experience in the sex industry and as a result, once the brothel opened he was completely out of his depth,” Uberoi explained. “Even in Australia, where sex work is legal, the sex industry is still very problematic. Chris was a nice man who thought he could just run a 'nice' brothel. But it just wasn't that simple!”

As the realities of running such a business dawned on him, Chris just worked harder – managing the farm by day, running the brothel by night, and shuttling his beloved wife between the two locations.

“But the logistics just got harder and harder. The sleeplessness and stress took their toll on family life and also on his relationship with the friends Chris had established the brothel with,” Uberoi said.

Pimps and prostitutes aside, “A Good Man” also tells a poignant tale of a couple determined to stay together through sickness and in health as long as they both shall live. Even after Rachel’s tragic stroke, Chris dismissed doctor’s advice and took her home, married her, and has stayed by her side ever since.

“Everything about their relationship was surprising in a really wonderful and revealing way. I suppose the biggest surprise was the joy – that despite Rachel's quadriplegia, the drought, and Chris' debacle at the brothel, they could take such joy in each other, or their child, or ride on a motorbike,” Uberoi added. “I was blown away by how Chris and Rachel could laugh at each other, at life, and even makes jokes about what had happened to them. Other things too surprised me – like the fact that they clearly had a sex life and enjoyed it!”

"A Good Man" airs Monday, July 25 at 4:00 p.m. ET/PT and Thursday, August 4 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on the Documentary Channel.

Chinese Government Officials Star in World's Worst Photoshopped Picture

Floating officials

Chinese local government officials appear to float above the tarmac. Picture: Huili County Government

  • Road inspection pic goes viral
  • Bad editing has officials levitating
  • Inspectors now stars of the internet

It is the picture that has the web talking about the wonders of tarmac inspection in south west China - for all the wrong reasons.

Huili County Government has become a joke after posting on its website what may be the worst faked picture in history.

The picture shows three local officials inspecting a newly completed highway in China's Sichuan province but the men appear to hovering several centimetres above the tarmac.

What's astonishing about the poor display of picture editing is that it happened at all. Other photos show the men did visit the road and on the same day. And yes, the road was even completed. But for some unknown reason the photographer decided to ditch the original photos and go for a doctored picture instead.

Huili County Government was ridiculed soon after the picture went up on Monday. The authority took down the picture and immediately apologised, a rare thing in China.

"A government employee posted the edited picture out of error . . . The county government understands the wide attention, and hope to apologise for and clarify the matter," a Huili official told the state-run Xinhua news agency.

The picture has gone viral and inspired countless parodies, including showing the men on the moon, at the final of 2006 soccer World Cup and surrounded by dinosaurs.
